Residential Housing for Residents receiving services through Ulster County Mental Health Department
Supervised Community Residence (CR)
These residences provide 24 – hour supervision. Consumers develop goal plans based on principles of psychiatric rehabilitation. Skill training is provided in areas including medication management, daily living skills, assertiveness, skill development, community integration and other areas are addressed depending on the needs of the individual. The program in highly structured with emphasis on movement toward the increased level of independent living.
Supervised Community Residence MI/MR (e.g. Penrose)
Supervised MI/MR Community Residence Programs provide a service that parallels the supervised community residence level of care for people with mental illness that also have developmental disabilities.
Intensive Supportive Apartments (TAP)
Consumers share an apartment with one to three other people. Staff provides twelve to twenty four hours of supervision. They receive room and board with medication support, individualized goal planning and case management services.
Scattered Site Apartments (TAP)
Consumers share an apartment with other individuals out in the community. Staff provides one to three visits a week of supervision. They receive room and board with individualized goal planning and case management services.
Supported Housing
Supported services are provided to consumers desiring to live independently. Ongoing services are identified and planned on an as needed basis. Consumers are also assisted in securing permanent housing and initial furnishings for their apartments. Each recipient will apply for a Section 8 certificate and interim rent stipends are provided until Section 8 application is approved. The program works to insure that consumers pay no more than 30% of their income for rent.
Boarding Homes (room and board)
These boarding homes are tracked by SPOA and have an abbreviated referral packet.
Family Care Homes (HRPC) are also tracked by SPOA.
